Job Description 

To assist and administer activities fo r the Communications department 

Qualifications & Experience 

  • Diploma or Degree in communication or marketing 
  • 3 - 5 years’’ experience in internal communications and administration

Ad - hoc Projects 

  • To assist with events, functions and project coordination in a co - ordination an d hosting capacity 
  • Compile concept documents as required, with input from relevant departments 
  • Photography and videography for any identified events and ensure they are distributed to respective departments or communication channels 
  • Supplier liaison, including obtaining quotes, ensuring payments are made and maintaining relationships 
  • Collating quotations together and forming a cost estimate 
  • Maintaining cost and expense reports for individual projects 
  • Compile surveys, based on project, to obtain relevant feedback for future improvements 
  • Conduct telephone interviews 
  • and externally 

General Administration 

  • Setting up meetings as requested/necessary 
  • Create and maintain efficient filing system for Communications ; both on line and physical 
  • Maintain stationery stock levels for the department 
  • Archive and maintain photographic and video library of all events 
  • Maintain and update all Midrand communication channels e.gg. bathroom poster, A - frames, notice boards, chalk boards 
  • Maintain Communications email boxes e.gg. Comms Cafe, Edu_bytes, The Junction, CSI and any others as appropriate 
  • Maintain and update The Junction timeously and consistently 
  • Liaise with and maintain relationships with internal customers 


  • Coordinate articles, follow up o n deadlines etc . for various communication channels 
  • Manage the twice - weekly electronic newsletter, including writing of articles, from end to end 
  • Verify all article information for factual accuracy, including contributor details 
  • Liaise with external suppliers (photography, editor and printer, courier, producers etc . ) 
  • Source sponsorship and prizes 
  • Coordinate and follow up on competitions and relevant winners, including compliance with completion rule s etc. 
  • Arranging prizes and packages to be delivered / posted nationwide to branches and elsewhere 

Stakeholder engagement 

  • Build, manage, and maintain effective internal and external relationships with customers and suppliers, which ultimately lead to a positive communications team experience 

Compensation Information 

  • Minimum Salary R30,734.00 PM
  • Maximum Salary R58,333.00 PM
