Network Engineer – Security

Job Description
To provide 3rd and 4th level technical support to the company’s Network infrastructure and services environment covering the LAN, WAN and DC’s from a plan, build and run perspective. This includes the provisioning and maintaining of optimal service levels on all Network, Firewall, ADC and optimisation equipment located in the branch office networks and related services located at Head office, Hosting Data Centres and 3rd party services and connection, with the focus on the security environment.
Job Requirements
· Degree or Diploma in IT
· Certificate in CCNAR&S
· Certificate in CCNA Security
· F5 Admin
· Checkpoint CCSA
· Checkpoint CCSE
· Checkpoint CCSM
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE
· 5 Years relevant experience
· Implementation of security polices
· Strong expertise inthe design, implementation and support of complex security architecture incorporate environment
· Extensive experience working with, Checkpoint products.
· Experience with Cisco WSA and ACS in a corporate infrastructure.
· Working and technical knowledge of Cisco Wireless solutions
· Extensive experience with Checkpoint product suite e.g. Gaia and SPLAT running on open server, VSX, and Virtual Edition
· Working Experience with Cisco SDN Technologies e.g. ACI (Advantage)
· Working knowledge of Cisco ISE
· Extensive working knowledge of analytical tools like Wireshark
· Experience in UNIX/Linux

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS
Monitoring
- Monitoring of Core infrastructure
- Monitoring of 3rd Party services
- Relay relevant information in a timely and professional manner
- Alert and report on infrastructure outages
- Setup and monitor environment performance
Maintenance
- Maintaining the WAN, LAN andDC’s infrastructure and relevant services
- Maintain optimal uptime levels of over 99.5%
- Assist Junior Engineers to maintain the environment
- Capacity planning
- Setup and perform Services disaster recovery
- Actively pursue automation
- Compile and update documentation
Support
- Proactively handle incidents
- Handle 3rd line support for environment related incidents and request that were logged via IT Helpdesk,E-mail support or Telephonic.
- Liaise with IT Helpdesk and other IT departments
- Liaise with 3rd Party Vendors to support infrastructure
- Upgrade network and services hardware and software components as required
- Provide after-hours support when required
- Actively participate in mentoring junior and learner members
- Design and provision moderate to complex networks and services
- Proactively puts procedures in place to prevent and reduce the severity of outages
- Provides on-call production support
Admin
- Administrative tasks such as reporting
- Fault logging and tracking
- Fault escalation
- Asset Management
- Compile and update documentation such as SOP and How to Guides
- Complete audit requirements as required by audit deadline

- Adhere to training and certification set out and agreed to in personal development plan.
