General Manager (based in Mali, Bamako)

Purpose
- The incumbent will be responsible to drive the strategy of operational excellence and continual process improvement by effectively managing and executing the blasting service delivery process to customers in a way that meets specifications while enhancing relationships with clients to ensure that the organisation will be their first-choice service provider.
- We are targeting candidates coming from Mali, Mauritania, Ivory Coast, Burkina Faso, and Sierra Leone who are familiar with the laws and intricacies in those countries.
Qualifications and Experience required:
- Bachelors' degree in Mining or equivalent
- 10 years' demonstrated experience in mining or resource industry at an executive level
- 7 years' demonstrated business development experience in a mining/explosive environment
- 7 years' demonstrated experience in people management and strategy.
- Mine Overseers Certificate
- 5 years demonstrated SHERQ management experience in a mining/resource environment
Key Areas of Responsibility
Securing operations License to Operate and compliances (Mali, Mauritania, Ivory Coast, Burkina Faso, and Sierra Leone)
Increased revenue through expanded and retention of client/sales base
- Compile and execute business strategy thus ensuring new business and the retention of existing customers
- Perform and report on annual business planning thus ensuring efficient and effective management of finances, employees and assets in such a manner as to accomplish the strategic objectives of the company
- Analyse customer requirements using applicable technology and knowledge, recommend solutions and resolve related problems accordingly
- Assist in compiling of tender documents for technical offerings/services for prospective and existing clients
- Build relationships in the company and with relevant external stakeholders to deliver on the mandate of the
Achieved region/area/country net production/profit targets
- Management of finances in such a manner as to accomplish the strategic objectives of the organisation
- Define, development and implement policies, procedures and processes to ensure process excellence and continual process improvement
Prevented/mitigated operations/services/SHERQ risks
- Ensure that all the requirements of the Mine Health and Safety Act, OHS Act, and statutory requirements within the department/remit thus ensuring effective management of SHERQ and adherence to stipulated disciplines for continuous improvement of occupational Safety, Health, Environment, Risk and Quality that impact on any organisation
Optimally acquired/deployed/enabled resources for delivery on e.g. targets, cost, budgets, ROA
- Manage stock to obtain and preserve a suitable assortment of goods while also keeping track of all orders, shipping and handling, and other related
- Manage the maintenance of equipment, vehicles and assets thus ensuring adherence to processes and
- Manage all aspects of human capital through the HR value chain and in accordance to
- Identify, implement and manage employee development and skills transfer through various on boarding and training initiatives
