The purpose of the position is to develop a comprehensive management reporting framework for the (alliance banking and insurance verticals). The candidate needs to ensure that the controls are in place within group finance and in group operations to ensure all revenues and costs are correctly recorded and all payment streams and control accounts are reconciled. This position also requires the candidate to ensure reporting to Guardrisk is within SLA timelines and assist in business cases for any new partners, insurance products and payment stream solutions.

Minimum requirements

  • Chartered accountant (CA)
  • 5 - 10 years' experience (3 years post articles)
  • Knowledge and understanding of pricing strategies 
  • Knowledge of financial /insurance industry practices including IFRS17
  • Practical knowledge of analytical / statistical tools 
  • Holistic understanding of Alliance banking, Insurance (credit life and non credit life) including funding, distribution, credit, pricing, and accounting
  • GN5 understanding


  • Assist in the Preparation of the 1-5 year financial plan based on the segment’s strategy for approval by the segment CE and CFO and ultimately the Group Exco and Board and assist in the Performance of a re-forecast at least twice per year.
  • Management accounts and Financial pack for each partner Manco with Alliance Banking and for the Insurance Manco.
  • Ensures all balance sheets are reconciled back to source systems and to partner systems.
  • Assist in modelling the finance element of new partnerships / strategies. 
  • The candidate to be Involved in the GN5 application process relating to the Alliance Banking partners. 
  • New products business cases within Insurance vertical.
  • Create and maintain productive relationships with internal and external clients by providing advice and assistance.
  • Create understanding of the ‘real’ versus ‘perceived’ need through experience and expertise while complying with company polices legislation and regulations. 
  • Keep the client informed about progress through written communication, telephone communications and/or face to face meetings.
