Job Purpose
A vacancy exists for a Junior Technical Sales Engineer. The successful candidate will report to the Technical Sales Manager and will be responsible for providing technical support to the Sales Department. The role involves ensuring that the correct technical and cost models are applied to meet customer requirements for the full basket of products offered.
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) or equivalent in Electrical Engineering (Light or Heavy Current).
1–2 years of relevant experience.
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and AutoCAD.
Solid knowledge and understanding of power electronics (DC and AC UPS systems) and various battery technologies is essential.
Understanding of industry protection and telecommunications principles, and their interface with DC and AC standby power systems, is essential.
Must possess a valid Code 08 driver’s license.
Strong communication skills, both telephonic and in meetings.
Solid technical background with the ability to read and understand electrical drawings.
Ability to make sound technical and financial decisions.
Willingness to work flexible hours, including overtime when required to meet deadlines.
Key Performance Areas
Provide technical support to the Sales Department in the conceptualization and development of AC and DC solutions to meet customer requirements across various industries.
Interpret customer tender requirements to develop accurate technical solutions and cost estimates. Outputs include, but are not limited to, technical concept solutions, cost estimates, AB schedule completion, sample drawings, and datasheets.
Compile technical tender submission documents.
Provide technical support to the sales team during interactions with both internal and external customers.
