Project Manager
The Objective
The incumbent will be responsible for the successful management and execution of the manufacturing and supply of equipment into electrical engineering and infrastructure projects, which can include site installation activities. They will co-ordinate all the activities of a contract to ensure that contracts are executed safely, in time and within the tendered budget and conform to designed quality requirements and to the satisfaction of the Client.
Qualifications and Experience
- A Degree or Diploma in Engineering or IT
- A recognised tertiary Project Management qualification. Registration with SACPCMP or PMI will be beneficial.
- Eight (8) years of experience as a Project Coordinator or Project Manager.
- Experience and exposure to the Electrical and Instrumentation industry.
- Experience and understanding of Engineering Construction Contracts such as FIDIC and NEC.
- Working knowledge of the OHS Act legislation will be an advantage.
- Computer literacy and competent in using MS Excel and MS Project or Primavera P6.
- QA Training (ISO 9001) will be beneficial.
- Financial & Commercial acumen (ability to run own committed costing system including forecasting)
- Good communication skills and assertive business acumen.
- Experience in dealing with State-Owned Entities (E.g. Eskom, Telkom, Transnet, etc)
- Ability to work under pressure.

- Responsible for input at tender stage (labour, material, transport)

- Logistics
- Multiple small to medium size projects concurrently
Cost Control
- Correctness of estimates
- Claims - Cost Price Adjustment, change management, extension of time etc.
- Invoicing
Reporting
- Progress
- Production and site Meetings
- Incidents
- Time records
- Contract review
- Forecasting
Quality Assurance
- ISO 9001 requirements
- Implement company policies
- Ensure active management of a Quality programme at all sites
Customer Liaison
- Timely feedback
- Engage in meetings
- Respond to queries
Legal Obligations
- FIDIC, NEC evaluations & notifications
- Claims formulations & negotiations
- Tender vet preparations
Admin & Management
- Maintain contract records
- Manage equipment records
- Comply with company policies
Contract Procurement
- Assist in expediting materials if required
- Manage Quality Control and documentation of materials
