Senior Specialist: Procurement and Contracts

Job Purpose

To collaboratively work with internal business units and external suppliers to source goods and/or services for the Bank at the best possible value – considering quality, cost, legal compliance, risk, and internal governance. The role is responsible for drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts while ensuring adherence to legislative and regulatory requirements, sound commercial principles, and Bank policies. This role also supports supplier performance monitoring and supplier relationship management.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Law, Commerce, Supply Chain, or a related field
  • Minimum 3+ years’ experience in Contract Drafting and Management
  • Minimum 2+ years’ experience in Supply Chain Management – advantageous

Key Performance Areas

  • Draft, review, and negotiate supplier contracts to align with the Bank’s policies and regulatory framework.
  • Ensure procurement activities are cost-effective, legally compliant, and risk-appropriate.
  • Support business units in acquiring goods/services that meet value-for-money principles.
  • Monitor supplier performance and compliance with SLAs and contract terms.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to address procurement needs, resolve issues, and support strategic sourcing.
  • Assist in identifying cost-saving opportunities and contribute to procurement planning.
  • Provide expert advice on commercial and legal contract terms to internal teams.
  • Maintain effective documentation and reporting processes for all procurement and contract activities.
  • Ensure timely delivery of procurement initiatives aligned with deadlines and business priorities.
  • Support audit, compliance, and governance initiatives in procurement-related matters.

Knowledge, Exposure and/or Understanding of the following:

  • Procurement processes, bank policies, and applicable regulations
  • Contract drafting, review, and legally binding contractual language (legal and commercial)
  • Costing and pricing methodologies
  • Structure and composition of contracts and Service Level Agreements (SLAs)
  • Contract compliance and quality assurance for goods/services
  • Supplier management and performance tracking
  • Legal and commercial risk identification and mitigation
  • Governance and procurement frameworks
  • Report writing, documentation, and administrative controls
  • Microsoft Office proficiency
