Technical Service Manager

Job Purpose

Our client is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Service Manager to lead the after-sales service department. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing service operations, including the installation, servicing, and commissioning of equipment, while ensuring exceptional customer satisfaction. The role involves preparing accurate and competitive quotations and tenders, coordinating technical and administrative teams, and implementing process improvements to enhance operational efficiency and departmental performance.

Minimum Requirements

  • BSc, BTech, or National Diploma in Electrical Engineering
  • Pr Eng, Pr Tech, or Pr Techni registration will be advantageous
  • 6–8 years relevant experience in a similar role
  • Proven managerial competencies
  • Proven experience in drafting accurate and competitive quotations and tenders
  • Proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel, and MS PowerPoint
  • Strong understanding of industrial Health & Safety requirements
  • Valid driver’s license and own reliable vehicle
  • Medically fit to pass customer entry medicals
  • Availability to take after-hours emergency calls when required

Key Performance Areas

  • Lead and manage the Service department with minimal supervision
  • Coordinate technical and administrative teams to execute installations, servicing, and commissioning of equipment
  • Ensure timely preparation and delivery of accurate service quotations and tenders to support business sustainability
  • Maintain high levels of customer satisfaction through proactive communication and efficient service execution
  • Professionally handle field service calls and issues, including after-hours support when necessary
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, production, and sales
  • Drive and support the development of service technical documentation, including Safety Files for site works
  • Manage and maintain documentation databases, CRM systems, and planning tools
  • Complete and submit all required internal and external paperwork on time
  • Establish, implement, or improve processes and communication methods to enhance departmental effectiveness
