Sales Consultant

JOB FUNCTION:
The Sales Representative is responsible for driving new business development and maintaining strong relationships with existing clients. The role focuses on promoting products and services, understanding customer needs, and delivering tailored technical and commercial solutions. The position plays a key role in achieving sales targets, expanding market presence, and supporting overall revenue growth.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintain and grow the existing customer base through regular engagement and support
  • Identify and secure new business opportunities and sustainable clients
  • Monitor and report on competitor activities and market trends
  • Ensure products are specified correctly in client requirements and tenders
  • Communicate specification changes to internal tendering teams
  • Prepare, submit, and follow up on tender documents
  • Attend tender briefings, openings, and clarification meetings
  • Record and analyse tender feedback for market insights
  • Develop and manage annual plans and budgets for marketing activities (roadshows, exhibitions, client visits)
  • Represent the company at industry events, exhibitions, and marketing platforms
  • Coordinate and facilitate customer factory visits
  • Monitor publications and platforms for new tender opportunities
  • Obtain and assist clients with tender documentation and specifications where required
  • Maintain effective communication and information flow between clients and internal teams
  • Represent the company professionally and ethically at all times
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of products, solutions, and industry developments
  • Travel locally and within the SADC region when required


QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

  • National Diploma or N6 in Electrical Engineering
  • Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in DC systems, switchgear, UPS systems, or related industry
  • Experience in sales of AC/DC power systems, industrial battery chargers, batteries, inverters, converters, and UPS systems
  • Exposure to solar applications will be advantageous
  • Strong technical knowledge of:
    • DC power systems
    • Switchgear applications
    • Battery technologies
    • Power electronic circuitry
    • UPS systems
