Site Agent

Introduction

We are urgently seeking a qualified and experienced Site Agent – Civil Engineering to join a dynamic construction team. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing civil engineering construction activities on-site, ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, on time, and within budget.


Duties & Responsibilities

  • Manage and supervise all on-site civil engineering and construction activities.
  • Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, plant, and workforce on site.
  • Ensure project execution complies with drawings, specifications, quality standards, and contractual requirements.
  • Monitor project progress and prepare site reports, progress updates, and schedules.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality regulations.
  • Manage site resources, materials, and equipment effectively.
  • Liaise with clients, consulting engineers, project managers, and other stakeholders.
  • Conduct site inspections and quality control checks.
  • Resolve technical and operational challenges on site.
  • Ensure work is completed within agreed timelines and budget constraints.
  • Attend site meetings and provide technical input where required.

Desired Experience & Qualification

  • National Diploma / Degree in Civil Engineering or related qualification.
  • ECSA and/or SACPCMP registration is essential.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in civil engineering construction projects.
  • Proven experience working as a Site Agent within the civil construction environment.
  • Strong knowledge of construction methodologies, site management, and project coordination.
  • Experience in roads, earthworks, pipelines, concrete structures, or related civil works will be advantageous.
  • Sound understanding of OHSA regulations and construction safety standards.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Valid driver’s license.
