Metering Engineer
Purpose
The primary role will be to handle metering engineering aspects. This will include technical support and expertise for metering engineering including operation, design, and project development, installing, managing, and maintaining metering systems. Key roles include going to sites to check the proper installation of meters, diagnose and repair wiring issues, and change out meters as necessary. The candidate will be required to Install, maintain, and repair electric, meters at commercial, and industrial premises to ensure accurate billing and system integrity. Perform routine testing and calibration of meters to ensure they meet specified accuracy standards and regulations.
Minimum requirements
- BTech or B.Eng in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
- 10 Years product & technical metering technology, and client service background experience in the metering environment.
- Training completed
- 2 years Electrical Sales training experience.
- 2 years Costing experience in industry.
- 10 years Engineering experience in industry.
Duties
Tenders:
- Evaluate customers technical requirements:
- Interpret technical specification documents and drawings of tenders with respect to the following:
- Local content material to be used.
- Imported content to be used.
- Estimated man hours to complete the contract.
- Ensure equipment offered complies with the technical specification.
Customers:
- Assist other sales staff with processing of customers' requirements.
- Resolving customer enquiries and concerns with understanding and clarity.
- The ability to convey technical information in an understandable way, ensures customers are informed about the processes and outcomes of meter installations or repairs.
- After sales requirement.
General:
- All enquiries, tenders and orders are to be executed in accordance with Company procedures.
Marketing:
- Assist in marketing products to customers.
- Assist Sales with professional technical presentations to customers.

- Risk identification and mitigation is essential for safe metering equipment handling.
