Electrical Engineer

Role Purpose:

The Engineer is responsible for the design, development, and guide in the implementation of electrical systems for renewable energy projects for clients, including solar PV, battery energy storage systems (BESS), hybrid power systems, and related infrastructure. The role involves system-level electrical design, preparation of single line diagrams (SLDs), product bill of materials (BOM) development, technical client engagement, and support throughout the project lifecycle from concept through commissioning.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Designing electrical systems for renewable energy projects
• Preparing engineering calculations, drawings and technical documentation
• Performing system sizing and equipment selection
• Supporting commissioning and project implementation
• Conducting technical investigations and solving engineering challenges
• Collaborating with clients, contractors and multidisciplinary teams
• Ensuring compliance with applicable electrical standards and regulations
• Supporting projects from design through successful delivery

Required Qualifications: 

• Bachelor's Degree or BTech in Electrical Engineering.
• Registration as a Professional Engineer (Pr Eng) or Professional Engineering Technologist (Pr Tech Eng) is advantageous
• Valid driver's license

Experience:

• Minimum of 4 years of electrical engineering experience.
• Experience in renewable energy projects such as solar PV, battery storage, microgrids, or hybrid power systems.
• Proven experience creating Single Line Diagrams (SLDs) and system-level electrical designs. 
• Experience developing project Bills of Materials (BOMs).
• Demonstrated client-facing project experience.
• Experience supporting project installations and commissioning activities is advantageous.
