Fitter Mining Maintenance

Purpose

The incumbent will work as part of a team, which is responsible for maintenance on the Underground Refrigeration plant, Bulk air coolers and Condenser spray systems. 

Minimum requirements

• Qualified Fitter. 
• Minimum of two years’ experience in fitting. 
• Minimum of two years’ experience in Refrigeration and Ventilation maintenance. 
• R1 and R2 Certificates in refrigeration will be advantageous. 
• Valid driver’s license.

Main duties

• Carrying out repairs and maintenance on all mechanical equipment including but not limited to York CYK chillers, pump down units, pumps, ventilation fans, overhead cranes, crawl beams, pipes and valves and distribution lines for air and water. 
• Involvement in small projects to improve equipment. 
• Assisting Supervisor in compliance with planned maintenance system. 
• Ensuring adherence to SHEQ standards. 
• Carrying out legal inspections.
• Ensuring spares availability.

Key competencies

• Good working knowledge of the core process. 
• Must have a good understanding of the company's Integrated SHEQ system.
• Must be able to identify potential hazards related to job and take action to perform all work within the framework of safe work practices provided. • 
• Performing standby and shifts duties when required.
