General Manager

Purpose: 

Our client is looking for a candidate that will fill  in  general manager role.  The candidates will oversee the day-to-day operations of the business, driving revenue growth, including production, fleet management, management of staff, business development and HR.

Minimum requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in finance or commerce related subjects.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience working in senior operational management position with overall accountability.
• Demonstratable experience in setting and managing budgets, cash flows, inventory and costing of products.
• Experience in developing, implementing, and managing business objectives and strategies.
• An entrepreneurial, mindset with outstanding organizational and leadership skills. 
• Experience in a manufacturing environment advantageous. 

Main Duties

• Plan and direct the organizations operational activities to achieve efficiency and effectiveness. 
• Spearhead the implementation of systems, processes, and controls to support the business strategy.
• Coordinate all teams to achieve cohesiveness that support business outcomes.
• Manage and plan day to day activities and support the production team to improve productivity, quality cost control and customer experience. 
• Monitor and direct use of fleet and yellow equipment to achieve efficient and responsible use of fleet and yellow equipment. 
• Drive business development and the creation of sales opportunities. 
• Analyse, market activity and make recommendations to advance business objectives.
• Forster a culture of collaboration and set performance standards for the business and the team.
• Plan and manage the development of budgets and monitoring of financial performance to set budgets.
• Collaborate and support the finance team with development and management of budgets and cash flow projections.
• Mentor and support junior staff members.
