Job Description

Is a member to the Group Executive team and provides leadership and direction, and resource stewardship to the Bank’s sales channels and marketing functions

(Branch Sales, Call Centre Sales [Credit Direct], Digital Sales [on line web etc]. 

Is accountable for the Bank’s overall sales goals and for aligning sales and marketing objectiveswith the business strategy. The incumbent should possess IT / digital expertiseor experience with implementation of IT solutions and strong data analyticscapabilities to optimise performance in all three channels

  • MBA

Minimum Experience

  • 15+ years' experience in management with sales and marketing responsibilitie

Critical Competencies

  • Grow the existing customer base with key customers and establish new business within target customer utilizing the full resources available in the organisation, through new product sales to existing customers
  • Develop and implement strategic sales and marketing plans for each sales channel to deliver sales growth
  • Align sales and marketing objecctives with the Bank's strategy though active participation in group strategic direction.
  • Develop and implement a distribution strategy, to drive customers to online channels in accordance with the Bank's strategy of building a digital bank, as well as to transform the Branch Network to meet evolving customer needs.
  • Manage the three sales channels so as to drive consistent improvement in customer experience and collaboration among the channels and their respective teams
  • Implement and evaluate strategic, tactical and operational customer engagement plans, programs, and initiatives to align with the Bank's customer experience strategy
  • Ability to comprehend the position of the business within the market place; demonstrate a thorough understanding of the organization's market position, opportunities, capabilities and competitive threats.
  • Ability to approach the business using analytical and problem solving skills together with business process knowledge sufficient to assess client requirements, work with delivery leaders in identifying appropriate solutions, and lead the development of compelling and successful proposals.
  • Ability to oversee the development of products to meet the needs o customers.
  • Ability to lead sales positioning of products creatively to customers when face with difficult competition and product development challenges.
  • Ability to anticipate the implications and consequences of situations and take appropriate action to be prepared for the possible contingencies
  • Ability to deliver an agile organizational structure that enables the movement of peoples and resources quickly to capture new opportunities.
  • Ability to attract, develop, and retain talented individuals to ensure that people with the right skills are in the right place at the right time.
  • Ability to hold staff rigorously accountable for achieving their objectives.
  • Ability to align the organization and allocate resources according to strategic priorities
  • Ability o inspire dedication to the organization's shared goals and values through his/her own actions
  • Ability to demonstrate a high level of integrity, strong interpersonal skills, the ability to build consensus, and put a strong emphasis on responsibility and accountability.
  • Ability to create an environment that can anticipate and plan for changes to current organizational policies, practices, systems, etc. Need to move in new strategic directions and to ensure long term business viability.
  • Ensures effective control of marketing results, and takes corrective action to guarantee the achievement of marketing objectives fall within approved budgets
  • Monitor competitor products, sales and marketing activities
  • To establish and maintain productive relationships with all stakeholders
  • Support the achievement of strategic objectives critical to other function areas with in the Bank.
