Purpose

The purpose of the position is to perform comprehensive financial forecasts and provide strategic into the segment consumer banking. This role is the link between data and enablement across lending, transactional, collections and MI in the segment consumer banking. Responsible for curating, reporting, and monitoring data driven insights, identifying trends, observations, and findings, and shaping appropriate recommended solutions to support the strategic and operational requirements of consumer banking. Facilitate and ensure the continuous improvement of the consumer banking segment and to add bottom line value to the company.

Minimum requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting.
  • Post graduate degree, specialising in mathematics / quantitative subjects.
  • 5 – 10 years’ experience.
  • 5 of those years in a Finance environment.
  • 3 years’ experience in a Business Intelligence / Financial Reporting & Analytics / Management Reporting function.

Key competencies

  • Business and commercial acumen.
  • Knowledge of financial industry practices.
  • Practical knowledge of analytical / statistical tools.
  • Holistic understanding of Retail banking, including funding, distribution, credit, pricing, provisioning and accounting.
  • Practical knowledge of application and behavioural scoring.
  • Experience in researching, benchmarking and report writing.
  • Experience in data mining, data analytics, predictive modelling, and advanced modelling techniques.
  • Experience in researching, benchmarking and report writing.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel capabilities, including advanced formulae, data modelling and analysis.
  • Advanced Microsoft PowerPoint capabilities.
  • Advanced visual and presentation skills.
  • Working knowledge of BI tools and data warehousing.
  • Analytical and data-driven with a demonstrated ability to operate both strategically and tactically.
  • Experience in developing, reporting, and monitoring tailored, data-driven insights to support strategic and operational management and business requirements.
  • Experience in engaging, liaising and managing relationships with various stakeholders.
