Purpose

The Instrumentation Specialist will be responsible for the maintenance of Production Related Software as well as Asset Tracking Software.

Minimum requirements

  • National Diploma or Degree in Computer Science/Information Technology or related qualification. 
  • LPIC or Redhat Administrator Certification.
  • CompTIA network Certification.
  • CCNA Switching and Routing Certification.
  • Five years experience in an Instrumentation maintenance environment.
  • Advanced Network experience. 
  • Five years working experience on Modular Mining Systems.
  • Driver’s license.

Main duties

  • Linux Software Administration and Coding.
  • Fault Finding and Programming on all Modular Dispatch Hardware. 
  • Management and Maintenance of the CATS Server and Database. 
  • Management and Maintenance of the PDS/VDS Server and Database.
  • Management and Maintenance of the Access Control server and Database.
  • Radio programming and Database Admin.
  • Assisting with the training and development of subordinates. 
  • Compiling engineering specifications to ensure a visible standard for compliance. 
  • Adherence to MOC process and procedures.
  • Supporting Instrumentation, Electrical and Control Room staff in software faultfinding.
  • Assessing and modifying the process of long-term maintenance scheduling to ensure that the developed maintenance strategies are adhered to in practice. 
  • Compiling and updating specifications, codes of practice and standards on all OT Auxiliary equipment and ensure general compliance. 
  • Ensuring adherence to HSEQ standards.

Key competencies

  • Ability to fault find.
  • Good understanding and knowledge of planned maintenance principle.
