Metallurgist

Purpose

 The position is essential to improve plant metallurgical performance at Concentrator.

Minimum requirements

• BSc or B. Tech degree in Metallurgy or Chemical Engineering. 
• Minimum of three years’ experience in mineral processing plants. 
• Knowledge and experience of Concentrator processes would be advantageous. 
• Metal accounting experience and knowledge. 
• Proficient in Microsoft Office. 
• Eligibility for registration with recognised professional association. 

Main duties

• Ensuring high metallurgical performance in the Concentrator. 
• Analysis of plant performance and initiate process improvement projects. 
• Developing operational strategy to ensure that customer requirements are met. 
• Liaising with different stakeholder in the value chain. 
• Ensuring sampling and metallurgical accounting are maintained to a high standard. 
• Participating in Business improvement projects and support energy saving initiatives. 
• Identifying SHEQ hazards and do risk assessments in the area of work.

Key competencies

• Working knowledge of process performance analysis. 
• Demonstrate analytical and technical problem-solving skills. 
• Understanding of Comminution, Flotation and Solid-liquid Separation processes.
