Purpose:

The incumbent will be responsible for scheduling and planning of cave mining to ensure that draw control is exercised and cave management protocols are observed. In addition, the incumbent will be required to liaise closely with the relevant production personnel & Senior Management to ensure that protocols are adhered to & accurate production forecasts are available.

Minimum Requirements:

• B Sc/ B Tech degree in Mining Engineering. 
• Five years’ experience in an operational and mine planning environment. 
• Mine Overseer Certificate of Competency.
• Mine Manager’s Certificate of Competency will be advantageous. 
• High level of competency in Gemcom or other production scheduling package.

Key Performance Areas:

• Development of cave management systems.
• Management and operation of the cave management scheduling packages in accordance with the relevant protocols. 
• Using available software packages to generate life of mine plan.
• Controlling production data and reporting. 
• Reviewing and ongoing development of cave management protocols. 
• Ensure adherence to SHEQ standards.
