Purpose

The Quality Assurance & Quality Control Engineer is responsible for developing the Quality Assurance/Quality Control plan for the project in compliance with the company specification and standards. The key output of the role is to conduct inspections, measurement and testing to verify that projects deliverables meet acceptable criteria defined during the planning phase of the project.

Minimum requirements

  • National Diploma/ BSc/BTech in Mechanical Engineering. 
  • Qualification in Total Quality Management. 
  • Internal Auditing of Quality Management Systems. 
  • Minimum of 5-year working experience in inspection, quality assurance and quality control of structural, mechanical and construction works in the mining, mineral processing plants. 
  • High level of computer literacy essential (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

Main duties

  • Assisting in developing the Project Quality Management system by establishing procedures, plans and work instructions as needed and prepare weekly projects quality report. 
  • Monitor implementation of the Asset/Project/Function Quality Management System through regular audits and reviews. 
  • Developing and ensuring Quality Assurance requirements are incorporated into Technical Documents/Specifications, Tender documents, Contracts and Purchase orders.
  • Managing the quality, safety, cost and schedule during project implementation. 
  • Preparing weekly projects quality report. 
  • Monitoring and reporting on compliance and nonconformists and maintain relevant records. 
  • Promotes Quality awareness among project team members, contractors and vendors. 
  • Establishing and monitoring Key Performance Indicators to measure quality performance in different areas of work development and at various project phases. 
  • Following up on action items and maintain status register.
