Job Description

To maintain the general operations of accountable branches in a defined area or region in terms of sales and cost targets, cash management, staff management, client service and compliance

Minimum Education 

Relevant Degree NQF7 or Diploma NQF7 Recognised by FSB RE5 and/or RE1


Minimum Experience 

Minimum 4 years as Regional Manager or 5 years (BIG) Branch Manager


Management of Sales targets and Growth: 

1. Draw up an Annual Business Plan, implement and manage

2. Set monthly Branch sales targets

3. Give guidance to Branch Manager on production plan

4. Monitor and review Business plan where required (monthly)

5. Customise marketing plan for regional in line with overall marketing strategy, implement and manage monthly

6. Manage exception reports with Branch Managers

7. Identify New Sites, mergers, relocation and closures and provide support to Distribution where required

8. Manage the Roll out of new products and services

9. Manage Client Base by: Retaining existing clients, Activating dormant clients, Increasing new client base

10. Review and manage corporate relationships penetration and retention

11. Keep up to date with knowledge of competitors’ products / services by reading current newspapers and magazines, researching

12. Daily review of MIS and take appropriate action


Management of Budget – cost and control: 

1. Provide input for Annual Budgets

2. Manage Regional expenses against budgets: Fixed and Variable costs, Check monthly expense report for accuracy

3. Manage Branch profitability against Target / Budget


Operations Management & Support: 

1. Conduct monthly sales and operational meetings with Branch Managers

2. Identification and provide solutions to Problems

3. Manage communication within the branch (i.e. all communication is distributed and everyone in the branch is aware of key business campaigns taking place / related updates)

4. Oversee day to day running of branches

5. Conduct Branch Visits to ensure that branches operate effective and efficiently and to required Legislative and Internal compliance standards

6. Execute Branch functions/activities in adherence to Internal Audit standards (BPR)

7. Oversee and support any new initiatives through the branches and ensure interaction with all stakeholders

8. Communicate, facilitate and support sales staff with the implementation of new or changes to the operational processes, policies and procedures

9. Develop effective sales management processes in place in every single branch


Customer Service: 

1. Maintain professional look and feel of the staff and branch (branch neatness and atmosphere)

2. Manage and resolve escalated client queries from Region within set turnaround times

3. Develop and manage client centric culture within the Region i.e. manage queues and walk the floor.

4. Establish and Maintain relationships with internal and external clients

5. Support Brand Strategy of the company

6. Challenge existing process and procedures to improve customer services

Management of People:

1. Manage and develop subordinates

1.1 Approve and manage Recruitment and Selection of branch staff

1.2 Implement and manage Performance processes according to set standards

1.3 Provide coaching, oversee Training and do counselling to the Branch Managers and direct reports where required
