Seismic Technician

Purpose

The primary role of Seismic Technician  will be  responsible for the installation and operation of high-frequency and broadband seismographs, basis seismic data processing and seismic equipment maintenance.

Minimum Requirement

• National Diploma in Mining Engineering/Geology 
• COM Strata Control Certificate advantageous.
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in seismic data processing. 
• Computer literate.
• Minimum of 2 years’ seismic installation and instrumentation experience would be advantageous.

Main Duties

• Designing and maintaining seismic monitoring system. 
• Installation of monitoring instrument as per project schedule. 
• Provide on-the-job training on seismic rating to underground personnel. 
• Ensuring all relevant procedures are maintained and updated. 
• Commissioning of the monitoring instruments. 
• Processing of seismic data, producing high quality seismic activity plans across sections for reporting and presentations.
• Utilizing database information and software tools to manipulate and analyse data related to seismic activity. 
• Assisting Geotechnical team in generating plans, managing and visualizing spatial data. 
• Ensuring adherence to SHEQ standards and procedures.
