Purpose: 

The role requires the incumbent to collaboratively work with the internal business units and suppliers to source goods and/or services for the Bank at the best value in respect of quality and price. The role also entails contract drafting/review and negotiation while ensuring adherence to legislative regulations, sound commercial principles, governance processes as well as the respective internal policies. In addition, the incumbent will be responsible for supplier performance monitoring, supplier management and other adhoc tasks as agreed from time to time.

 Minimum requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in law or relevant field (Commerce or Supply chain)
  • 1-2 years’ experience in Supply Chain Management would be advantageous.

Critical Competencies: 

  • Knowledge of tender processes.
  • Knowledge of negotiation best practices, both in-person and in written form, that considers cultural norms and the Bank's best interests..
  • Knowledge of costing and pricing methodology.
  • Excellent knowledge of current and legally binding contractual language and terminology- both Legal and Commercial.
  • Ability to assess contract compliance and product/service quality.
  • In depth understanding of the composition of contracts and service level agreements (SLAs).
  • Knowledge of applicable regulations and standards.
  • The ability to build sound relationships with business units, end-users, key suppliers and colleagues;
  • Very strong communication skills (Oral, written, presentation, facilitation).
  • Good organization skills and the ability to multitask on several projects simultaneously.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Procurement and Contract Lifecycle Management
  • Facilitate tender process (Beginning to end)
  • Stakeholder engagement and satisfaction 
  • Supplier Monitoring
  • Data Storage and Reporting - Assist with monthly Exco reporting
  • Risk and Compliance - (Provide support on all audits (internal and external) and manage annual outsourcing return to the SARB.)
  • People Management
