Senior Internal Audit Specialist

Purpose

To provide guidance and execute specialized audits for the portfolio, including the provision of industry/ best practice knowledge to enhance the audit process and the audit report.

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Banking, Econometrics, Statistics, Informatics, Mathematics or related fields.
• Postgraduate Degree (Finance, Statistics, Mathematics) will be an added advantage.
• At least 3 years’ experience (including in the Banking/Financial Services industry), with specialization in Credit and/or Model Risk audit. Supervisory experience on audit projects would be an advantage.
• At least 3 years’ experience in model risk-based auditing or model risk/control activities.
• At least 3 years’ experience in Internal/External audit or commensurate experience in a major financial services institution.
• At least 2 years’ experience of SAS programming experience.

Duties and Responsibilities 

• Evaluate and score documented inherent risks & management controls.
• Lead audit engagements covering the assigned portfolios including risk assessments, audit planning, audit testing, control evaluation, gather and maintain supporting documentation for each audit and control objective addressed, audit report drafting and follow-up and verification of issue closure.
• Communicate audit findings to management and identify opportunities for improvement in the design and effectiveness of key controls.
• Regular Portfolio discussions with key stakeholders.
• Perform regular reporting to IA management on changes in the portfolio’s organizational structure and key stakeholders.
• Assist the client to understand their role relating to risks and controls as well as Internal Audit’s role in providing an independent assessment of risks and controls.
