Purpose

The primary objective of the role is to capacitate the human settlements portfolio as the company continue to promote a conducive environment that enables the banks to provide competitive, sustainable, as well as customer-centric financial services and products with regard to human settlements.

Minimum Requirements 

  • Completed an Honours/equivalent and or be working towards completing a Master’s Degree in Urban Planning or related, MBA, Property Studies or Real Estate.
  • Have a working knowledge of the building environment, particularly human settlements, property, and real estate.
  • Have a working knowledge of the law, the political dynamic, socio-political imperatives, and regulatory issues impacting property finance, affordable housing and property valuations will be an advantage.
  • Have a good understanding of the financial sector regulations and an appreciation of the political and social context of regulatory issues. 

Duties

  • Enable the company to be the voice of the banking sector by providing support on formulating positions on critical regulatory, supervisory, or key stakeholder issues.
  • Proactively identify and drive initiatives affecting the salient banking sector product house frameworks.
  • Lead and consolidate member positions on various issues to develop a sector position.
  • Lead and create and/or enhance service offerings within the sphere of operations for the company to deliver continuous value to its members.
  • Represent the company at conferences, seminars and meetings with regulatory authorities and other stakeholders to defend and present the interests of the banking sector.
  • Provide administrative support for the company committees (arrange, schedule, follow-up on committee action list).
  • Participate in, create and promote a collaborative learning and performance-oriented culture.
  • Assist in driving projects efficiently and effectively by adhering to defined performance objectives.
  • Support domestic and international research on different topics and compile reports and material for media articles.
  • Maintain effective relationships with member bank representatives and all stakeholders.
  • Assist in managing outputs from meetings with members and external stakeholders.
  • Assist the public policy section with identified projects and outputs.

  • MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project, Outlook) and Internet.

  • Policy analysis and formulation.
  • Batho Pele principles.
  • Dynamic project management and strategic planning.
