Smelter and Refinery Instrumentation Supervisor

Purpose
The incumbent will be responsible for, Supervising the Smelter and Refinery Instrumentation workshops.
Minimum requirements
- National Diploma (N6/S4).
- 3 years’ experience on Honeywell control system.
- Knowledge of Copper smelter and refinery process will be advantageous.
- Minimum of three years supervisory experience.
- SAP experience and excellent computer skills.
- Valid Driver’s license.
Main duties
- Effective management of the Honeywell TDC 3000 Control systems and upgrades.
- Effective management of the Honeywell Experion system and upgrades.
- Adherence to and enforcement of the company Safety, Health, Environment and Quality standards and procedures.
- Budget Control and Planning.
- Managing of surface two-way radio network and licensing.
- Closing contact and co-ordination with other operational, maintenance and technical sections.
- Identifying and implementing improvement strategies.
- Application of the company's models of systems, leadership and values.
- Effective management of resources in area of responsibility through optimal resource usage.
- Effective management of contractors.
Key competencies
- Good technical skills.
- Extensive knowledge of Control and Instrumentation.
- Project management skills.
- Ability to plan, manage and control the section’s budgets.
- Extensive knowledge of the Honeywell TDC 3000 and Experion systems.
- Knowledge of Siemens and Allen Bradley PLC’s.
- Proven safety, production and technical track record in a leadership position.
